Section on National Desk Autographic Registers
Originally priced from $8 to $25
Ed- These simple receipt writing autographics with cash drawers are still fairly common today. They are only moderately collectable because they are not very exciting or rare. Finding one complete or with original paper in it increases value. Some have inkwells on them and these can be rare to find with the glass still in them. Ballpark values are around $300-400
No. 200 Desk Autographic Register WITH COMBINATION LOCK.
Dimensions: 171/4 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 8 1/2 inches high.
This register is equipped with a combination lock, which prevents its being operated by any one not knowing the combination. This lock is simple in construction, but secure. It can be set in a few seconds at any combination desired.
The register is equipped with a single roll of paper, as in the NO. 204.
A sale is registered by writing the amount in the appropriate column on the paper roll, and then pressing the buttons of the combination lock and pulling forward the lever. This rings the bell and releases the cash‑drawer, which is then thrown, open automatically. Closing the cash‑drawer moves the strip of paper so that the writing is carried under a glass plate, and a space is left for the next sale.
